Though New York Times Editor Ethan Hauser’s debut novel, The Measures Between Us, dramatizes the effects of an impending rainstorm, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky above the author’s East Williamsburg garden as he read HENRY a passage describing a summer fair. Everything inclement felt remote. As the characters in The Measures Between Us cope with environmental and internal change, however, Hauser’s writing soon swept us up in its powerful atmosphere.
