Swathed in the overcoat of his mentor, Gregory Corso, journalist and author Sam Kashner recounts becoming the first student at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. Although Kashner may have been an “easy mark” for the penurious “true madman” of a poet, Corso’s soulfulness nonetheless impresses a pronounced mark on Kasner’s work today.
