DEAR FUTURE CONTRIBUTORS,
Before filming, take a moment to consider the mode of delivery that best complements your content. A simple self-recorded reading can be as powerful as an elaborate production, but free to get conceptual.
If you’ve been mulling over an idea and you’re not sure if it’s in HENRY’s register, browse our Archive, or contact us at info@henryreview.org. We’ll get back to you with all possible speed.
Submission Guidelines:
We accept .MOV, .MP4, .MPG, .M4V, 3GPP, 3GPP2, AVI, or .WMV files.
Submit to: submit@henryreview.org by uploading via WeTransfer, YouSendit, Dropbox, or sending a private link from YouTube or Vimeo. We will notify you of acceptance via e-mail as soon as possible, always within three months.
Accompany all submissions with the typed title of the work you’re delivering, your name and, if you’re not reading an original piece, the name of the author. You may also include a short cover letter or bio if you wish. If accepted, we will send you a questionnaire about your piece that will complement the video on the site.
Submissions should not exceed three minutes in length.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept videos that are currently posted online, including public links on YouTube and Vimeo.
On Delivery
Reading from your own work will likely make for the most compelling submission. Practice the piece aloud a few times before recording, and engage the camera as you would an audience.
If you’re planning to read in a straightforward manner, please silently face the camera for a full 5-10 seconds before introducing yourself, as well as the title and creator of the work you’ll be delivering. After you complete your reading, please silently face the camera for another 5-10 seconds. These buffers will allow us to fade in and out of your video.
If you encounter production or file-transmission complications, e-mail us at info@henryreview.org.
